Family Focus assesses the effectiveness of its programs using five key outcome goals, designed to enhance both family and child well-being. These goals include Parental Resilience, which focuses on the parents’ ability to maintain a strong relationship with their child and recover from hardships. Social Connections measure the strength of parents’ social networks, emphasizing the importance of identifying trusted support and fostering strong relationships within these networks. Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development ensures that parents are informed about developmental milestones and understand what to expect during their child’s early years, empowering them to be their child’s first teacher. Concrete Support checks whether the basic needs of families are being met, providing a foundation for stability and growth. Lastly, Social and Emotional Competence of Children evaluates children’s ability to interact positively with peers and their readiness for school, including early diagnosis and interventions for any developmental concerns.

There are 11 Family Focus direct service centers throughout Chicago and Northeast Illinois providing holistic family support services to families and children enrolled in center programming, home visits, emergency assistance services, and educational programs.
